Complex of Katas Raj Temples were built during the reign of Hindu Shahi Dynasty (615-950 CE) around a sacred pond. It is situated in the Salt Range of Punjab, district Chakwal. Pond is believed to be created by the tears of Hindu lord Shiva which he shed on the demise of her beloved Sati. Temples at Katas Raj are dedicated to Shiva. Apart from Katas Raj Complex of Temples, there are many temples in the region such as Shivala Teja Singh temple in Sialkot, Baba Ram Thaman Shrine in Kasur and many others across the province.
