Punjab Tourism has enormous potential to lead the socio-economic transformation of province. Punjab has rich history, religious diversity, vibrant culture natural beauty and above all hospitable people. The sector has witnessed steady growth in last three years. The Government has taken several progressive measures relating to policy, institutional, regulatory and development reforms. New Integrated Tourism Zones have been developed consisting of tourism sites that are closely linked in terms of nature, history, culture or otherwise. However, to fully actualize the true economic potential of tourism, sustained efforts are being made to augment and modernize tourism infrastructure in Punjab. Multifaceted approach towards development of resorts, connectivity, wayside amenities and recreational infrastructure has been adopted with the involvement of private sector. Punjab outsourcing policy, PPP mechanism have been introduced to facilitate private sector. I am confident that under the vision of Prime Minister, Pakistan and leadership of Chief Minister, Punjab we will transform the sector as the leading driver of Punjab’s socio-economic growth.
