The historic Minar was built in the era of Mughal Emperor Jahangir in about 1606 A.D. Hiran Minar (literally, the "deer tower") was constructed in the loving memory of his pet antelope named Mansraj, which was captured somewhere in this area. The memorial tower stands 30 meters high and is 10 meters wide at its base. This bricked tower is circular and tapers towards the top. The minar is divided into six tiers of different height. The entire exterior as well as interior of the tower has lime plaster, apparently with some floral or lineal fresco paintings. The existing height of Hiran Minar is 95’-4”. The basement is octagonal in plan with each side measuring 13’-3” and is richly paneled. About 275 feet east of the Hiran Minar is a suitable double storey gateway of the usual Mughal style leading to the baradari situated in the center of a big water tank. The Baradari is a treasurable octagonal built in three storeys, the top one being only a domed open pavilion.
